What We Do
ArtsEdConnect is a web-enabled “marketplace” for Silicon Valley teachers to access local arts education options for their classroom. We created and manage this technology driven platform, in partnership with Silicon Valley Education Foundation, and we award mini-grants to teachers who are “shopping” for creative opportunities for their students.
Who We Serve
K-12 private and public school teachers and their students across Silicon Valley are connected with organizations and individual artists offering arts education programs through our centralized online platform.
Why It’s Important
Research concludes that engagement in arts and creativity sparks a passion for learning, fuels imagination, and builds relevant skills. ArtsEdConnect.org is Silicon Valley’s only arts education marketplace, creating more equitable access to creative programs for our county’s youth. This technology platform connects teachers and parents with arts providers (organizations and artists) by providing comprehensive information about arts education programs and how they might fit within an academic curriculum — a qualitative matchmaking process that ensures a good fit for all participants. ArtsEdConnect comes at a time when public funding for arts education is trending downward and helps bridge the opportunity gap through increased access and funding for arts education options for schools.
