Before diversity, equity, and inclusion were popular buzzwords, leaders from Silicon Valley’s multicultural arts community have been working to showcase the talent and cultural vibrancy of this region. SVCREATES invites you to join us for this panel discussion/presentation to learn about the strategies creatives of color have used to grow and sustain their practices over the past several decades.
Omar Rodriguez, Owner/Marketing Director, Kooltura Marketing Specializing in multicultural marketing, helping clients reach audiences of a specific ethnicity, culture, and subculture through brand and strategy.
Usha Srinivasan, President/Founder, Sangam Arts Promoting multicultural understanding through performing arts.
Tricia Creason-Valencia, Documentary Filmmaker | Lecturer (Department of Communication Santa Clara University) Addressing social justice issues such as immigration reform, homelessness and the representation of gender & race in American social history.
Facilitated by Demone Carter, Program Manager for the School of Arts and Culture’s Multicultural Arts Leadership Institute (MALI). With a performance by Maribel Martínez, Poet and Founding Director of The County of Santa Clara’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs.
